Users

VoiceCheck provides security in the form of user accounts and roles.

  • User accounts provide a unique user name and password for each person who logs in to the VoiceCheck user interface. Alternatively, SSO authentication may be used. When using SSO, VoiceCheck does not maintain or verify the user passwords.
  • Roles define a set of permissions—exactly which pages a user can view and what actions a user is allowed to do on each page in the application.

To manage the users who are also device operators, go to the Operators page.

Preregistration

When using SSO, each user must be registered within VoiceCheck before they can access the interface. Users who are registered with the SSO authority but not with VoiceCheck receive and error message if they try to access VoiceCheck.

An Admin user is created at the time of installation. This admin user can add other users to VoiceCheck.

Access Control

To secure user access, you must first create a user account for each VoiceCheck user. Next, you must assign specific roles to the user accounts. The users are then authorized for access only to the features that are granted by their role(s).

Two default users, both assigned the Administrator role, are provided with the system:

  • admin
  • vocollect

On this page, select a user in the table and click View selected user to see details of that account.

When SSO is not used, passwords must be changed after the first log in, and must adhere to the following password complexity requirements.

A minimum of 8 characters, including:

  • 1 upper-case letter
  • 1 lower-case letter
  • 1 numeral or special character

New passwords must not match any of the last three user passwords.

Users will be locked out after three invalid login attempts and must wait 15 minutes to try again or contact their system administrator to unlock their account.

Change User Status

If you need to disable a user account to prevent someone from logging into the application, change the Status field on the Administration > Users > Edit User page. This function applies to user accounts created from the Operators page as well.
