Edit the Hostname for All Device Profiles

This topic applies only to VoiceConsole On Prem deployment customers. For VoiceConsole SaaS deployments, hostname is determined based on the URL assigned for the instance. It cannot be altered.

If you need to change the VoiceConsole On Prem deployment host - for example, from DNS to static IP or to point a device to another instance that uses a different hostname - you can change the hostname on the View Device Profiles page. This name is stored in the VoiceConsole database.

When you change the hostname, all device profiles are automatically updated to point to this new hostname. But to update devices, you must load the profiles onto them.

  1. From the VoiceConsole tab, select the Device Management tab.
  2. Under Navigation, click Device Profiles.
  3. Under Device Profile Actions, select Edit hostname for all profiles.
    The Edit Hostname for All Profiles page opens.
  4. In the Hostname field, delete the existing hostname, and enter a new one.
  5. Click Save Changes.
