Install the USB Driver

After installing the Honeywell Accessory Update Utility:

  1. Launch the application from the desktop shortcut or installation folder.
  2. Connect a headset or charger using a USB cable.
  3. The Windows computer attempts to install the USB driver automatically from a certified online source.

If the automatic installation fails, the new device is listed in Control Panel > Device Manager as "unknown" or "Generic Bluetooth Adapter." If this occurs, install the Honeywell USB driver manually by performing the following steps.

Manual USB Driver Installation for Windows 7 and Windows 10

This process only needs to be performed if the Honeywell USB driver did not install automatically.

  1. Launch Device Manager and navigate to Bluetooth Radios > Generic Bluetooth Adapters.
  2. Right-click and select the "Update Driver Software" (Windows 7) or "Update Driver" (Windows 10) menu option.
  3. Select "Browse my computer for driver software (Locate and install driver software manually)."
  4. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
  5. Click the Have Disk... button, and browse to the USBDrivers folder and driver file in the Honeywell installation package. Ensure that the selected driver that matches the 32-bit or 64-bit platform architecture. Click OK.
  6. Click Next to complete the installation. If a security warning appears, select "Install this driver software anyway."

This driver download prompt may be repeated when connecting a headset to a USB port and when the headset enters download mode.

Repeat the driver installation for every port to be used for updating headsets and chargers.

If the devices are still not showing in HAUU after manually updating the driver:

  1. Disconnect the device from the USB port.
  2. Reconnect the device.
  3. Click the Scan button.
