Tasks

Talkman devices work in conjunction with tasks. The task software consists of several files that direct the device to give specific instructions to the operator and specify what to do when the operator responds to the prompts. These files are created in the TaskBuilder or VoiceArtisan development environment. From the View Tasks list, you can click the name of the task to view its properties. TaskBuilder tasks and VoiceArtisan tasks have some different fields.

TaskBuilder tasks do not support Plug-Ins.

TaskBuilder

Task Name

Name of the task.

Task Type

Type of the voice application file, VoiceArtisan or TaskBuilder.

Task File

File name of the task.

Task Format

Format of the task.

Task Revision

Version number of the application used to create the task.

Protected

Whether the task is protected.

TaskBuilder tasks are always unprotected.

Phonetic Pronunciations

Pronunciation and display strings in a task that have been created and/or edited.

Lookup Table

Shows if a task has a lookup table defined with FTP as the source. The file chosen is downloaded with the task.

Default Task Settings

Advanced settings (configurable parameters) for the device, some of which affect how the device travels through the task.

Embedded Training Prompts

Custom prompts for words that are frequently used in combination that the operator trains during enrollment training.

Record & Playback Audio

Recorded vocabulary list that is loaded onto a device along with the task that activates the Record and Playback feature.

Plug-In

TaskBuilder task show Not Compatible in the Plug-In column because these tasks do not support Plug-Ins.

VoiceArtisan

An Eclipse-based development platform using Python to create and customize voice-directed workflows for Honeywell Talkman devices.

Some of these features are not available in DWS Mode.
The details show may differ depending what, if any, plug-in has been embedded in the task.

Task Name

Name of the voice application.

Task Type

Type of the voice application file, VoiceArtisan or TaskBuilder.

Protected

Whether the voice application is protected.

Existing Task Package Override

No Override: The embedded and phonetic file settings in the imported voice application are not overridden by an existing task package.

Task Package Name: The embedded and phonetic file settings in the selected existing task package override these settings in the imported voice application.

Task Format

Version of the voice application format.

Version Information

Version information supplied by the voice application.

Plug-In

Indicates whether a task supports Plug-In embedding.

  • Compatible: The task is compatible with plug-ins, but no plug-in been embedded.

  • Embedded: The task has a plug-in embedded.

  • Not Compatible: The task does not support plug-ins.

Plug-In Name

The name of the plug-in, if any, embedded in the task

Workflow Name

The name of the workflow, if any, from the plug-in embedded in the task

Connectors

The type of connector used by the plug-in.

Base Resources

Any resx (language) files that are embedded in the task.

Plug-In Resources

Any language file for GWS App that are embedded in the task
