Send Messages to Operators

Devices at your installation must be running at least VoiceClient 3.2 to receive messages from VoiceConsole.

VoiceConsole provides the ability to send short spoken messages to operators through their devices. Operators will hear messages as soon as they are received by their devices. If operators are not loaded onto a device when the message is sent, they will hear it the next time they are loaded onto the device.  

You can only queue three messages to any device. Once a message is cleared from the device - either by the operator hearing it or if it expired - another message may be sent.

Send Messages to Operators by Selecting Operators 

The following procedure lets you select individual operators to whom to send messages.

  1. From the VoiceConsole tab, select the Operator Management tab.
  2. Under Navigation, click Operators.
  3. In the View Operators list, select the operators to which you want to send a message.
  4. Under Operator Actions, select Common Operator Actions > Send message to selected operators.
    The Send Message page opens.
  5. Enter the message.
  6. Select the time period after which you want the message to be deleted from the operator's device.
  7. Click Send Message.

Send Messages to Operators by Selecting Operator Teams

The following procedure lets you select operator teams to which to send messages.  After you select teams, you can also select additional or remove individual operators.

  1. From the VoiceConsole tab, select the Operator Management tab.
  2. Under Navigation, click Operator Teams. 
  3. In the View Operator Teams list, select the operator teams to which you want to send a message.
  4. Under Operator Team Actions, select Common Operator Team Actions > Send message to selected operator teams.
  5. The Select Operators page opens. All operators on the selected operator teams are selected by default.
  6. If you do not want to send a message to one or more operators on the operator team, deselect those operators.
  7. Click Next.
    The Input Message page opens.
  8. Enter the message to send to the operators.
  9. Select the time period after which you want the message to be deleted from the operator's device.
  10. Click Send Message.
