Change Operator Credentials
Because devices used in Voice-Directed Work do not provide a user interface for entering usernames, passwords, and PINs, Honeywell developed the concept of association type. Association types determine the level at which credentials are required.
Association Types
For each site, you can select one of the following:
Association Type | Definition |
---|---|
Site Based | There is a single username and password or certificate for all operators and devices at a given site. This option is the closest to what existed in previous versions of VoiceConsole. |
Device Based | Each device has its own username and password or certificate. In this configuration, operators don't need to be involved in the authentication process, because all authentication is between the device and the authentication server. |
Operator Based | Each operator must log onto VoiceConsole to enter a username and password and, optionally, a Personal Identification Number. The operator must enter the PIN (if PINs have been enabled for the site) on the device before they can connect to the full network. |
If your site is configured to use an operator-based association of Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), operator credentials are changed in the Administration section of the application.
- Click Administration.
- Under the Administration tab, click Sites.
- In the View Sites list, select the site containing the operator.
- Under Site Actions, select View operator login page for selected site.
The Suite Login page opens.Honeywell recommends that you create a shortcut to the Operator Login page, and place the shortcut on the desktop of the computer on which operators use to change credentials.
- Enter the operator Username and Password.
- Click Log into the system.
The Change Network Credentials page opens. - Enter the information that you want to change.
If you are using a PEM certificate, both a certificate and a key are required.
- Click Save Changes.
VoiceConsole uses the LDAP repository to verify credentials and to change them on the network when they are changed in VoiceConsole.
An operator username and operator name in VoiceConsole must be the same on the LDAP server for the operator to be able to connect to the network. If a username and password are changed, the operator must log into VoiceConsole using the new name.
Operators may change the passwords to the same passwords that they are currently using.
