Automatic Voice Loading and Tasks

This feature is designed to delete the task when changing to a Voice in a different language to prevent the new Voice from trying to speak a task designed for another language.

An operator’s associated Voice is not automatically loaded when that operator is loaded onto a device. An associated Voice is only available to an operator in the ways described below.

Once you have configured an operator to have an associated Voice in VoiceConsole, the operator can attach a headset to the device and his or her preferred Voice will load.

When an operator with an associated Voice in a language different from the Voice currently on the device attaches a headset, the device reboots and deletes the task before loading the new operator. The operator will then have to manually load a task. For example, if an operator’s associated Voice is “Spanish (Mexico) 2” and the last Voice on the device was “English (United States) 1”, the task would be deleted.

The task will not be deleted if the operator’s associated Voice is within the same language as the Voice currently on the device. Voices within the same language can use the same task because the words that they need to pronounce are the same. For example, if the operator’s associated Voice is “English (United States) 1” and the last Voice on the device was “English (Australia) 3”, the task would not be deleted. The same task can be spoken with the new Voice.

If an operator attaches a headset that does not qualify for this feature, he or she will hear whichever Voice was last loaded onto the device.

The task and operator are no longer deleted when the voice on a device is changed. After loading the voice, if the Automatic Load a Task to Device feature is disabled, the operator must manually load the task in the language of the newly loaded voice.

The device no longer needs to reboot when a voice load is successful.

If the voice on a device is changed to a different language, the device speaks the name of the current task loaded onto the device after the voice is loaded. This assists in identifying the currently loaded task’s language and reminds the operator that a task in the newly loaded voice must be loaded.
