Listening to Device Operators
A listening kit can be connected to a device in order to listen to the audio output of the device or the dialog between the device and operator for training or demonstration purposes.
To setup this feature, sign on to VoiceConsole and set the SrxSupervisorAudioEnable parameter in the device profile or the task package loaded onto the device to "1" to listen to the device and operator dialog or "2" to listen to just the device output (recommended).
The Honeywell Voice Maintenance & Inspection Solution does not support Supervisor Audio in mode "1" which allows the user to listen to both device and operator dialog. The audio stream for VoiceNotes is transmitted from the SRX3 Headset at a higher quality than the smaller bandwidth audio stream that is sent for Supervisor Audio. To avoid audio conflict and failed functionality, use Supervisor Audio mode "2" to hear only the device output.
Follow instructions for your listening kit then make the appropriate connections to complete the setup:
- Connect the Micro USB cable (Honeywell part number TR-900-1) to the maintenance port on the operator's Talkman A730x.
- Insert the 3.5 mm male jack on the cable into the input connector of the transmitter of your listening kit.
- Power on the transmitting radio.
- Connect a headset or powered speaker to receiver of the listening kit.
- Power on the receiving radio.
If a listening kit is not in use, ensure the SrxSupervisorAudioEnable parameter is set to "0," the default setting, for optimal performance.
