Moving a Device to a New Site

You may need to move devices among sites if:

  • a new device gets pre-configured before being shipped to a work site, or
  • a device in use at one site is needed at another site, either as a replacement or with a traveling technician.

Follow these procedures to assign the technician and/or device to a new site.

Technician

  1. The technician signs off the Talkman device at the current site and places it in the charger.
  2. Log into VoiceConsole and go to the Operator Management > Operators page.
  3. Select the operator name of the technician, and click the Move operators > Move/Add selected operators to a site action link.
  4. In the Move/Add dialog box, select the new site from the Destination Site drop-down menu and choose the appropriate radio button.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Log into VoiceCheck and go to the Operators page.
  7. Edit the technician's operator record and check the checkbox for the new site, then save changes.
  8. The technician travels to the new site, taking his or her headset.
  9. At the new site, the technician pairs the headset to the same or a different Talkman device and signs on.
  10. At the welcome prompt, the technician speaks the "Change Site" command and selects the new site name.
