Zebra RS5100 Scanner
The process below connects the peripheral using the Default profile. To use the Master profile, set the following:

Configure RS5100 Scanner
- Download and install the following on your PC from the Zebra website:
- Perform a clean boot for the scanner:
- Remove the battery.
- Press and hold the Restore key.
- Insert the battery into the scanner while continuing to hold the Restore key.
- After approximately 5 seconds a chirp is heard and the scan LEDs flash green. This signals the RS5100 is set to the default factory configuration.
- Connect the RS5100 scanner to the PC with 123Scan installed using the USB cable.
- Start the 123Scan utility.
- Select Create new configuration file.
- Select My scanner is connected via USB cable.
- Select your scanner from the list.
- Provide a name for the configuration file.
- Click on Modify Data.
- Select Append an enter key.
- Click Done and Load to scanner.
- Scan the SSP (Serial Port Profile ) Bluetooth Classic (Discoverable) Barcode from the Zebra RS5100 Ring Scanner Product Reference Guide.
- Remove and reinstall the RS5100 battery.
- The scanner reboots and is discoverable as a Bluetooth device.
- Open the PC Tool application.
- Click the Show Bluetooth Address barcode button.
- Enter the Bluetooth address of the RS5100 scanner.
- Click the Generate button.
- Scan the barcode with the RS5100.
Configure Task and VoiceConsole
- Set the following advanced parameter in Task config
barcodeport = bt_scan - Turn on Bluetooth on the device.
- View the properties of the device and ensure Bluetooth is enabled. If it is not enabled, click Edit this device and set Bluetooth Enabled to "enabled".
- Select Pair this device with a peripheral.
- For Pairing type select "Bluetooth Scanner".
- For Connection Mode select "Device listens for peripheral connection".
- Set Security to "Enabled" or "Disabled" as desired.
- If security is enabled, enter the security key as "12345" or a custom PIN if set.
- Click Pair with peripheral to initiate pairing.
